I….Love, Hate, Think, Believe, Feel, Wish

I found this great site today.

twistori.com

I found this very interesting to watch. Basically its feeding from what people post around the world in their twitter account. (Twitter is like a mini blog I guess. People post one or 2 line sentences about what they are doing that very moment. Many twitterers post 20+ times a day. I dont have time for that kind of effort.)

Anyway.

I found the Love, Think, and Believe columns to be full of hope and joy. I find it odd that we as humans strive for personal connections on such a deep level, that we can actually use technology to connect with others, yet never leave our computers. Now here I am excited that I can read the posts of so many people I dont know, and enjoy seeing what they Love, Hate, Think, Believe, Feel, and Wish. I guess I’m part of the non-personal personal connection chain too.

In case you didn't know….

I am way too excited that this came out today.

New tracks, go-karts & motorcycles, play up to 11 other people, and race people around the world via the internet. Awesome.

that is all.

comments fixed

so I broke the comments when I upgraded our blog to wordpress 2.5. I have them fixed. Sorry.

Feel free to comment on all the posts, 3 times to make up for it.

goal update for matt

Since steph posted her goal update, I’ll share mine.

I still havent fixed the master bath toilet from leaking. This is affecting our goal o wasting less water. I do have the parts. Maybe this weekend.

Although We have worked out more. I have failed to loose any weight. Im still 215. i guess for being 6′ 3″ its not all bad, especially since I easily wear a 34 pant. But i wanted to be 205 by the end of the first quarter. boooo.

thats all. I dont have as many important goals as stephanie does. I guess thats why i have her.

matts notes on georgia

So here are my general observations on our trip

  • downtown atlanta seems pretty cool
  • people drive the speed limit on the high ways. odd
  • every road seems to be a highway, at 65 mph. with stop signs and stop lights
  • the road names on the maps dont match the signs. makes directions hard to follow
  • people seem to operate and a relaxed pace. Kind of cool. Unless you are in a hurry
  • the highways are lined with trees. not houses and businesses like here in AZ
  • the toll road was fun. I’ve never had to toss the change in the bucket like that
  • My Weedwacker has more horsepower than our rental dodge caliber had
  • There seemed to be these really cool looking turbines in the ceilings of tunnels. Maybe for generating electricity off the wind caused by cars? I need to do more homework on them

Over all I liked atlanta. If it wasn’t so far away from our families, I could see us living there.

Yes we are alive here in the ATL!!!

I must say the flight from Phoenix to Atlanta was by far the roughest, scariest flight either Stephanie or I have ever been on. All was well for the first 2.5 hours. But there was bad weather in Atlanta, so we were forced to go to a “holding pattern” over Alabama for an hour. Holding pattern basically means flying in a circle. It wasn’t fun but nothing compared to what happened next.

Atlanta was currently shut down for the heavy rains, and the tornado warning. We were the first flight they let back in. It was by far the worst turbulence we have ever been through. There were moments were stephanie and I were holding on for dear life. I’m talking free falling, drop 2500 feet in 2 seconds (we had flight stats on the monitor in front of us) scary moments.

After we touched down, i realized i could barely feel my hands, and my arms and upper body were tingly. Not sure what that means, but probably not good for my body.

I cant imagine doing this with kids on a 14 hour flight.

Well we made it to Atlanta safely.

For those that dont know, We are here for a Church Planting conference as a vendor. We really hope and pray for some new clients here at this show. Over 500 people, and we get to meet some of our current clients.

Green Peace Ad

This is just funny. And perfect. And brilliant. And you should watch it right now.

Clearly a European ad. As many would be up in arms about this on TV here in the US. I would love to see ads like this on US tv, The buzz alone would create great awareness on the topic. And as any good marketer knows, buzz is better than paid advertising.

Matt Kicked out of the house

Is what Stephanie wanted to post. But It was a mutual decision.

So some of you may know Our Design firm has been getting busier and busier. Lots of new projects, great clients, and so on. We have out grown the concept of working in Matt & Stephanie’s house. I’m excited, but I think Stephanie may be more excited.

So as we are growing in staff members, More space is needed. Today was a long day as we have moved to some great offices.

Check out the pics.

NHL Winter Classic 2008!

I am super pumped about this. On New years day, the NHL is holding the first US outdoor, NHL regular season game in history. The game is between the Penguins and the Sabers, and should be a great game.

The game will be held in front of 70,000 fans in the buffalo Bills Stadium (tickets sold out in minutes).

The preparations have been impressive.

Last year the first NHL game held outdoors was in Alberta Canada, and the temps were in the -20° range. This year it should be a bit warmer at 24 – 30° at game time.

This is exciting for me, as my best friend and I lived on the pond hockey rink for 4 months each winter as kids. If we weren’t in school, you could find us on the pond. It was a great place to play hockey, and most of the NHL players playing in this game are also just as excited.

The Tank Award

For those of you that have had the great pleasure of meeting our black lab mutt Tank, you will get this great comic. The trophy image is also appropriate.

For those that dont know, Tank is a little special when it comes to people, and behaving. He either likes you, or he doesnt (Just ask Stephanie’s brother Jason). The dog also has separation anxiety, making for more issues that we should allow.

F-minus is the greatest comic since farside.

beard & mustache champs

Beard Team USA competes for the United States at the biennial World Beard and Moustache Championships. In doing so, the primary goal is to promote the worldwide appreciation of beards and mustaches.

Why should you care you ask?

[english accent]To my fellow Beard and Mustache Gentleman: It is with great honor I would like to announce that The 2009 World Beard & Mustache Championships are to be held in Alaska. [end english accent]

this is awesome for so many reasons.

check these out:

For 2007 I rocked a beard. But I may have to groom a better mustache beard combo so I can compete in the 2011 competitions (I’m not yet ready for 2009). I am currently looking for a good coach and manager to assist in strategy and conditioning. It will be grueling training, but i must represent my country.

So if you are, or know of any top notch, aggressive, and dedicated beard & mustache aficionados willing to take on a coaching role, let me know.

green bathroom

Instead of decorating for christmas, we painted. Our second bathroom will be tom & jerry’s, so we need it fun. We found the greatest green paint.I think its even called leap frog green.

I also must say that Wow stephanie posts entirely too much, Or is it that I dont post enough?
