  • Giraffey

Ezra has become quiet attached to the little giraffe his Aunt Julie gave him for his first birthday. So much so that he wants Noah’s too. He will carry both around if I let him.

He loves to suck on giraffey’s nose and does this or a combination of thumb sucking/giraffe sucking when he goes to sleep.

He cuddles so much with giraffey that when Ez wakes up with a bloody nose . . .

    so does giraffey.

I am happy to report that I successfully washed giraffey and he no longer has a bloody nose.

    Ez πŸ™‚

    Horsey rides!

    Ez’s turn!

    Bad morning πŸ™

    Playing with Paul

    Scooting with Annie.

    Move over Paul!

Refusing to sleep on a long ride home.

    Noah refused too.

He shouldn’t be able to do that, yea we tightened his straps up immediately!

  • Hot Wheels Time

Remember all the way back in October of 2008 when Matt excitedly bought some hot wheels? He couldn’t wait to play with them with our kids. At the time we were still anxiously awaiting a referral and would wait 4 more months.

Well almost 2 years later he finally broke out those hot wheels. The boys were super excited, but Ezra was beside himself with excitement. I wish we would have thought to get the camera out sooner. He just ran around screaming and squealing with delight.

Here is a video after he calmed down:

Noah was a teething, clingy boy so you just hear him start to whine at the end of the second video. Here is a pic of how he looked:

Mad I wouldn’t let him hold the camera

  • Bee-sy Morning

    The suspect

This morning I woke up with a stiff, sore back, nothing I couldn’t live with but knew to take it easy. I planned on doing very little and just playing with my guys. The morning started off really well, Crash was doing much better (the last two days he was a cranky, clingy, teething boy). We were having lots of fun and giggles were plentiful. The load of laundry had finished washing, our cue to go outside and have some fun.

I was putting Crash in his swim trunks, because water play is inevitable, when I heard Danger screaming from the kitchen. Run in to find him sprawled out on the tile face first. I knew he hit his head. I calmed him down and started to worry. Usually once he stops crying, he wants to get right back to playing, but he just laid on me. I called my husband who just told me to monitor him for a bit, at which time he finally starts to liven back up and I notice the giant egg forming on his forehead. He seemed back to normal and we changed into our swim trunks.

(I should note that the above came with a heavy dose of mommy guilt. I had given him an ice cube to eat and he slipped in the water from the cube.)

We finally headed outside, where I could clearly see something was wrong in the garden. Tomato hornworms were on the attack, my tomatoes and peppers look horrible. They are so hard to get rid of because they are so hard to see and they seem to multiply like bunnies. I quickly hung the laundry on the line and started hunting caterpillars while the boys played.

Need to go hunt some more, I know there is more of them out there!

I was working in my large garden bed when I heard Danger crying right behind me. I spin around to see a bee fly off and immediately started looking him over. He was holding his hand funny and didn’t want me to look at it, so naturally that is where I kept looking. I didn’t see anything, I hadn’t been stung before so I called my husband and asked if the stingers were easy to spot, he said they were. I then assumed he hadn’t been stung but maybe had just twisted his hand funny. I went to set him down and saw something on his side that look kind of fuzzy/goopy and tried to brush it off him. It was the stinger, the poor guy had been stung. :( We went inside removed the stinger, cleaned him up, and put a bandaid on it. He was now acting fine and I was relieved.

    Admiring the caterpillars

    Crash really loves them.

They had their lunch and are now napping. I sure hope the day improves after nap.

    Climbing in the toy box

That’s it he is cooking dinner from now on!

Another helper, or someone who just wants to climb?

    Water fun.

Noah figured out there are shelves in the cabinets

Ez had to give it a try.

  • Raffle for Canvas on Demand

Friends of ours are having a raffle for a $100 Canvas on Demand Gift Certificate. The raffle ends at noon Arizona time so head on over here to enter.

  • Kids & excersize

I’m borrowing Stephanie’s “Mom’s Soap box” category for this one. Kids these days are chubby. The stats are growing and so are their waistlines. 1 out of 5 kids is considered obese. INSANE! I bring this up, because there is a great post over at Car Free Days about how kids are not the problem when it comes to riding a bike or walking for travel. Parents are. Parents give all sorts of reasons why their kids don’t ride or walk to school: traffic, fear of abduction, weather, crime.

  • New Adventure

I figured I didn’t have enough to do and needed a little more adventure in my life. πŸ˜‰ It’s not a huge adventure and one I hope to find as a fun outlet.

I am starting a new blog for all the homemaking things (seriously could not think of a better word) I like to do. I want to keep this current blog more of a family blog, keep track of the boys as they grow, all the family adventures we do, and more personal stuff (again lack of a better word*). Sometimes you might see the same post on both blogs (if you choose to read both), but most of the time it will be different. I will be posting more recipes and crazy things I try over there. Please come and join my Homemaking Adventures!

I am using nicknames for the boys over there, but did decide to post pics. I went back and forth, but honestly I think pics often make the blog (plus seriously I have some cute boys!). I hope to keep some privacy for them and if some day they don’t want me to use their cute faces anymore I will stop.

*(Hoping more blogging will somehow improve my vocabulary and writing skills)

  • Energy

The boys energy level has definitely gone up the last few weeks. It seems they have more little boy energy. Here’s a little video of them after lunch and just before nap, having a good time.

  • Graduation

Can you believe it? My babies graduated from the baby room at church. They are now in the toddler room. Which means they are starting to do crafts, sit at a table and have snack, and listen (hopefully) to a story. Here are some pics of their first crafts at church, crowns.

Do you know how hard it is to get a picture of two toddlers wearing crowns on their heads? Anyway after I stopped taking pictures they started taking the foam stickers off and trying to eat them. Sigh, the crowns are now safely in the trash.

  • Kazoo time

My boys love music, good thing I have apparently been blessed with a tolerance for hearing a lot of musical creations throughout the day. Here’s a video including kazoos, piano, and a little singing.

  • Garage Sale Finds

On my way to work in the community garden this morning I saw someone setting up a garage sale. They had a little slide that I thought would be perfect for this summer (inside). But I passed because I was on my bike and on my way to work in the garden. 2.5 hours later it was still there, so I told the lady I would be back with the car. Best $10 I spent this summer. The boys love it. Now they have something to climb on besides the furniture! It will be so nice to have since it is already unbearable hot out after 10 am every day.

Immediately had to try it out.

Look at those happy faces! (ignore the messy house)

Also scored an art easel for $3!
