I've never actually heard of sour cream apple pie, but I have to say it does sound rather scrumptious! I like the idea of not having to use too many ingredients in the filling. When I give this recipe a go, I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks for sharing.

LOL!! I was just telling friends about the Sour Cream Apple Pie recipe and how much I LOVE it! Glad it's bringing joy to others, too! Small world isn't it? I think it's incredible that we are ALL learning to WAIT patiently! Will we ever truly learn, this side of Heaven? We are praying for you as we all WAIT!

The original pie recipe calls for 2 pippin apples. I just changed to the canned apples, and I can't remember why. I got the recipe from Kathy Corry who now lives in Kentucky. Her son Matt and wife are also adopting from Ethiopia!

Stephanie -- could you make your own apple pie filing and measure out 16 oz? I make my own for apple pie w/ apples, a bit of whole wheat flour (to thicken the juices) organic brown sugar, cinnamon & cloves & nutmeg. I microwave for 5 minutes to get the juices to start flowing, because I used skin-on granny smiths. Could this work for your recipe??
