Today’s advent activity was to deliver all the goodies we’ve been making. I delivered some earlier in the day to a couple of people, and we were supposed to deliver to a few neighbors tonight. We got all ready to go and then noticed it was pouring down rain. Since we own no rain gear and the world’s smallest umbrella Matt made us stay home. We will have to finish our deliveries tomorrow.

Advent:12
Last night we set out to make sugar cookies. It wasn’t going so well so I finished up the rolling and cutting out by myself. We then waited until tonight to do the decorating. Which was met with much enthusiasm and tears. Three year olds can be a tad emotional!
They are both upset we said they couldn’t eat another cookie until after dinner Ezra joined in on the fun Noah was ready to get the decorating done Ezra at the start of cookie decorating, minor misunderstanding between him and daddy Talking about rolling it or cutting Noah cutting out cookies Ezra ready to start cutting out some cookies -
Advent:11
Visit Santa! The boys went to a local Santa who volunteers his time to collect food for the food bank. The boys answered every question he asked with “3!” (Noah holds up four fingers, while Ezra holds up three.) Guess we are stuck on our age right now.
Checking out all the lights. Bored? 3! -
Advent:9
Today I combined our advent activity with play school. We made candy cane play dough and had a blast! I managed to keep all four boys from burning themselves, but someone did touch the super hot play dough and feel the burn.
All ready to give as gifts, yea not quite as pretty as the original poster’s. Kneading the glitter into the dough Kneading Noah and Micah stirring Serious work Judah stirring Ez and Noah Noah showing Ez Noah stirring Remember you can click on the photos to see them larger and read the captions
(Wow that took a lot of red food coloring!)
All three boys were giggling uncontrollably so I got the camera out, of course the giggles stopped, but they were still silly and cute.

Today’s advent activity was finding the perfect tree and decorating it. We had a lot of fun. It was even rainy and cold! Made it feel like winter around here.

Advent:2
Today’s activity was something I’ve wanted to learn to do for a loooong time – string popcorn and cranberries! I knew this would be slightly above the boys’ crafty level, but knew they would still like it (anything involving popcorn is awesome!).
The boys really liked it. They worked on it for about 20 minutes (long time for them). I left their supplies out the rest of the morning and Ezra came back a few times to do more. I think he liked it. 🙂 I found it nice and relaxing. We did a couple of ornaments and I’m working on a strand. I doubt I’ll do enough to cover the whole tree, but so glad we learned how to do this.
Concentrating Mom seriously pictures? Posing Gave them a tray, floral wire, popcorn and some cranberries Hard at work He really liked it Noah showing off his finished wreath Ezra showing his off Working on a second one 🙂 I watched this video to learn how.

Advent:1
Our advent calendar this year is activity based. Our days will involve acts of service/charity, holiday traditions, family time, Christmas crafts, and Christmas music. We had a lot of fun planning it and will post each day what our activity was.
Today we packed up our food boxes for Chances for Children.
Noah putting in some canned chicken. Hard at work. Closing up the first box. Pushing it out the door for the mail carrier, it’s heavy! Noah pushing his box. -
Swim Lessons
The boys started taking swim lessons this month. It is at a nice indoor pool, separated by a giant glass wall. I can easily watch and relax while they learn to swim. It is a group class of up to four kids, but the last few times it has been just the boys. The first lesson they screamed the entire time, the second lesson we split them up which went fine, but then I decided to start going on a weekday instead of Saturday. The pool is nice and quiet during the week and Noah is doing so much better without all the noise. I know eventually he’ll have to get use to a noisy pool, but for now this is the best environment for him.
Noah smiling at mom, Ezra usually tries to talk to me, but I can’t hear him. 🙂 Noah blowing bubbles Tongue out for extra concentration Ezra on his back Noah does not like the water in his ears Determination Ezra blowing bubbles Noah concentrating Cutie Learning the wall walk Learning to climb out Ezra jumping in Noah’s turn Noah climbing out Noah jumping Making sure mom is watching him swim Special treat today, riding in the boat Look at her smile, my guess is Ezra was flirting, he is such a flirt You can just click on the first photo to scroll through, see the images larger, and read the captions.
