Holding Out

I told Matt a couple of weeks ago that I was going to hold out until May to turn on the air-conditioning.   Is holding out really that difficult?  I am sure some of you are wondering because you are no where near needing to turn on your a/c, but we have already had highs in the upper 90s and can expect possible low 100s this weekend.  Last year we had to turn it on in March!  It was unusually hot.  The warmest our house has gotten this spring in 81 degrees which isn’t too bad considering we normally keep it at 82 during the day in the summer.  The problem for us is at night both of us like it cool.  Last summer we kept it at 75 at night, I think we will shoot for 77 this summer.  We have gone to bed a couple of nights this month and it was 80 and we survived.  Some of us less happy about it then others.  We also have a ceiling fan and a regular fan on us.  So I think we can hold out until May, but this weekend will be a test for us.

How warm do you let your house get before you turn on the a/c?  What do you keep the thermostat set at?

Everyone in other states can quit laughing at me now for making this a topic on our blog.  Believe it or not this can be a topic of conversation around here!
